Camp KANGA
The local Lions Club managed Camp Kanga is a good base for anglers fishing Peter Faust Dam. Not only does the camp offer camping facilities but for anglers flying in, the donga (cabin) accommodation is quite comfortable and has airconditioning as well as a refrigerator in each room. Cabin
Accommodation is $35/night per person for a shared cabin or $50/night for a solo cabin.
For those traveling in their own caravans or bringing camping, Camp Kanga provides powered sites from $30 per night. Camp Kanga Facilities also include BBQ area & picnic tables as well as shower and toilet blocks.
LAKESIDE CAMPINg
For the fully self-sufficient traveler there is also a paid Lakeside Campground (bookings required) with shower and toilet facilities as well as free wifi.
Sit are unpowered bush camping and avaialble for up to 7 nights.
The Lakeside Camping area is convenient to the ramp and also provides pontoons for land based fishing (and the recent water levels finally have the pontoons actually on the water!)
LAKESIDE KIOSK
The kiosk at the campsite has a few basic essentials as well as camping favourites like snacks and icecream! But visitors are recommended to top up on groceries in Proserpine.
